Abstract

wega is excited to host its first Dutch event about "Digitalization of Lifescience Laboratories" at the Leiden Science Park. We invite you to join us at this free event on Wednesday, May 7th 2025. Three speakers from the labs will show you how they approached the digitalization of their labs and share lessons learned. The event will be concluded with a networking lunch where you meet your peers.

Steven

Steven van Helden

Senior Consultant and Business Analyst at wega Informatik with a focus on research data and knowledge management.

With a PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry, Steven began his career in chemoinformatics and later moved into the field of laboratory automation and high throughput screening. He held various roles in a large pharmaceutical company and founded a screening CRO where he served as CTO.

Steven has always worked at the interface between science and IT and is a specialist in laboratory automation. He has over 20 years of experience in setting up and managing large international projects. Steven enjoys enabling the interaction between science and IT and achieving efficiencies in the lab.

Dr. Hilde Laeremans

Hilde Laeremans

Dr. Hilde Laeremans is an accomplished Team Leader at the Lifelines laboratory with an expertise in pharmacology and laboratory management. She holds a PhD in Pharmacology and has pursued postdoctoral research in both the United States and Belgium. Throughout her career, Dr. Laeremans has accumulated significant experience in leading research and laboratory teams.

Her career spans various areas of laboratory management, with a particular focus on the storage of large volumes of biological samples and data. Dr. Laeremans is well-versed in implementing cutting-edge solutions for the automation and digitization of laboratory processes. This includes enhancing sample management and streamlining the entire workflow, ensuring that data integrity is maintained while optimizing operational efficiency.

Angela Mohr

Angela Mohr

Senior QC Equipment Engineer at Dynavax GmbH in Düsseldorf.
As part of the process engineering team, Angela supports the quality control laboratory in the implementation of new equipment and software applications.

As a project manager and technical expert, she was leading the introduction of the digital laboratory management system (LIMS) and is now also responsible for the further development of this system for additional process steps.

Christophe

Christophe Girardey

Managing Director and Head of the CSV & QA department at wega Informatik AG.

He works as a CSV consulting expert in many different projects, mainly in German-speaking countries.

He has a particular focus on laboratory data systems (LIMS, chromatography data systems, laboratory execution systems) and supports customers in implementing the best solution from various perspectives (efficiency, compliance, data integrity).

He also supports many customers in the optimal use of the agile methodology in the GxP environment.
