Article published : "Requirements for laboratory equipment: interfaces and data formats"
We are pleased to announce that our colleagues Christophe Girardey and Romain Perreaut have published their article in the journal Pharmind, which is now available on ECV.
Summary
In recent years, the number of data integrity warning letters, especially those related to laboratory aspects, has increased significantly. One of the main reasons for this is paper, which unfortunately is still used as a link between laboratory and instruments. However, when you confront the ALCOA1) data integrity guidelines with these paper methods, you are faced with many challenges. To go paperless and better meet data integrity requirements, it is advisable to implement an electronic laboratory system such as Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS), Laboratory Execution System (LES) or Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN). However, this alone does not solve the challenge of integrating instruments and systems. How can communication standards such as Standardization in Lab Automation (SiLA) or data standards such as Analytical Information Markup Language (AnIML) simplify this?
